what firms are hiring non-harvard graduates?
Hey all,
I just graduated undergrad this past May and have since been working as an intern at one of the top PE firms on the investor relations team. The internship is up at the end of the year and I really need to find a full time job. I would love to get into consulting, strategy consulting if at all possible.
Does anyone have suggestions of possible firms to look at? I don't want to even waste my time looking at BCG or the other two since I don't have "Harvard" on my resume. Then again, working at this PE firm, as well as having a plethora of leadership experience and a 3.7 GPA in finance shouldn't be anything for people to look down on. Any suggestions are helpful!
Thanks guys!

Seriously though, my mind is blown if this is a legit question? You don't have to be at Harvard to get into MBB, even state school kid undergrads get in! Everyone here will tell you that a top MBA is the only way, either that or lateraling from a shop like oliver wyman/lek/accenture
Haha I mean, I've sent it to them before, and gotten no response. When I talk to my alumni office they tell me to not even bother. So what am I to think? Honestly.
It's not like I have my heart set on working at MBB, honestly I could care less about the name so long as its challenging work in a fun environment.
P.S. it is a legit question. I am quite interested in other firms in the industry.
your experience is actually pretty impressive... have you tried applying to your local Burger King? heck, with your resume Taco Bell may not even be out of the picture. apply as a janitor, and see if you can network into the front office (in this case, the drive-thru) after cleaning toilets for a few years.
Sweet deal man, good stuff.
Dude he's not joking. I concur. Now the question is: do you?
Anyone else finding it difficult to follow IP's pledge? These threads just suck you in like a tractor beam.
