this is columbia, but still good to know: http://www.culpa.info/courses/5061

from that site: "In econometrics, you learn how to do linear regressions, i.e. quantitatively determining how one or more independent variables correlates with a dependent variable. Most of the class is the math behind it.

It’s a hard class, and it sucks. In lecture I felt like I was sitting in a dark room, and there were only glimmers of light. I habitually became infuriated when working on problem sets and realized that Prof. Von Wachter had not covered the material yet. I found the lectures somewhat muddled, the textbook only marginally better. The TA didn’t know a thing either. This was by far the worst class I have taken in my econ major."

i got an A at wharton though

lol if all you learn about is linear regressions then you must have taken the watered down kiddie version of big boy econometrics.

wait till you get to learn about multivariate GARCH models and Markov switching models...then you can complain.

highest mark out of a class of 45 people... and i got like what would be equivalent to a B+... 30% of class failed, really depends on the teacher, if he is trying to be a jerk he can really make your life a living hell. if you dont have to take it then DONT. i barely use anything i saw in that class, just take an advanced calculus based stat class and you will be golden

A. Only class I ever went to see the tutor for regularly. Hard but cool. Stata is pretty dope. Professor was a little Chinaman who would do the Gangham Style dance before exams.
