What influences Rankings in ER

Hey guys,

I was wondering what factors influence the rankings, or rather how favorable a specific position is. I know in IB this matters: 1. The firm 2. The location 3. Specific Group 4. Exit Opps
How does this compare to ER?

Performance. There's two major ratings out there for ER. II and Starmine, and they each measure performance differently. Starmine actually calculates the accuracy of estimates & calls and rewards analysts accordingly. Meanwhile, II asks the customers to vote on who's the best. There's an annual voting process, and every major researcher will campaign heavily to get votes. There's pros & cons to each method, but both are generally considered legit accolades (tho probably II>Starmine).

Like you mentioned, II votes are not available to the public. However, occasionally the press will pick up stories about them. You can also check analysts' linkedin page. If they're ranked, they'll usually brag about it. Starmine ranks areavailable to the public, and you can check them out here.
