Can you be a little specific? Are you asking what is "funding technology" or do you mean what mechanisms are funding technological innovation?

Assuming this post is for real...

"Funding technology". To understand this, we first break the phrase down into the two English words that comprise it:

Funding

Fund\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Funded; p. pr. & vb. n. Funding.]

  1. To provide and appropriate a fund or permanent revenue for the payment of the interest of; to make permanent provision of resources (as by a pledge of revenue from customs) for discharging the interest of or principal of; as, to fund government notes.

Tecvhnology

tech·nol·o·gy Audio Help /tɛkˈnɒlədʒi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[tek-nol-uh-jee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.
2. the terminology of an art, science, etc.; technical nomenclature.
3. a technological process, invention, method, or the like.
4. the sum of the ways in which social groups provide themselves with the material objects of their civilization.

Investors fund technology in many ways. Venture capitalists provide business-building advice and injections of capital, in exchange for ownership in the future, should the technology become a viable, profitable business.

Private equity firms often buy out companies that build technology, and once they have acquired the entity, give the firm money to grow.

Uh, does this answer your question? How old are you...
