What is right for me?
I am a 21 year old recent college grad with a Political Science degree but I am interested in getting into the financial services world. However, because I am not very familiar with the anatomy of the industry, I'm not sure what segment plays to my skills/I would find the most enjoyable.
I'm an introvert who enjoys asking questions and learning. I'm not a huge people person and I find sales grating. I'm pretty cautious and conservative and if I'm enjoying my work, I put in a lot of of effort. I enjoy seeing what is going on with markets, keeping up on the news, and knowing as much as possible about everything. Based on this small amount of information, what could you see me doing? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
A master in finance degree
If you're an introvert and bad with people, avoid banking at all costs. You sound like you'd make a good quant, if you can deal with the math. Alternatively, you could look into trading. If you have previous finance experience, go for an MSF. If not, aim for an MBA down the road to make the switch.
