For me, I'd have to say the Le Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy France. Something about a huge castle on a tiny island close to shore.

Also the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Brings be back to a different time.

P.S. Not french

Whats your favorite building? Can be both new and old. My favorite new one would have to be the shard in London

Even cooler because if you aren't a BSD PE fund he wont lease to you

1/17/18

I work close by to this and can see it from my window. It's so ugly...

1/18/18

I laughed twice...once when I read your comment and again when I read your username.

1/24/18

Prestige aside, the building is typical 1970s weirdness. The actual offices I've been in there tend to be nice though.

1/16/18

These are biased based on where I've lived but 191 Peachtree in Atlanta and 140 New Montgomery in San Francisco (aka Pacific Telephone Building).

ugh seriously? I live right around there. Even knowing what it's supposed to be, I can't get on board with it.

Plus... who wants to live IN a nice looking building? I'd rather live across the street...

Chrysler building. But I love DDG's projects recently http://ddgpartners.com/portfolio/

My favorite is 1144 Fifteenth in Denver (local). Hines just completed the building and it's a great addition to the city skyline. First class A office highrise in Denver in more than 3 decades too.

560 Mission St in SF. I've always loved that building (JP Morgan building)

1/16/18

Big fan of this one. May walk down there for lunch.

CAA Building in Los Angeles (2000 Avenue of the Stars)

A far as office buildings, 1 Bryant Park here in NYC. That glassssss.

Resi has to be 56 Leonard and VIA 57 West for sheer uniqueness.

1/16/18

Via 57 West, Bjarke Ingels designed. Used to drive by it every day.

Big fan of the American Copper Building in NYC (626 1st Ave)

1/16/18

Beautiful building. That skybridge is amazing! Love the stuff JDS has been doing. Stella & Walker Tower's are great too

I looked through the proforma/financial model for that project and it was a thing of beauty as well

Know all those deals very closely. Stella and Walker were home run deals. As for American Copper Building - yeah it looks cool now, but let me ask you this - what's it gonna look like in 10 years?

What do you mean? Like it will stick out due to its design? The rents they are asking in that building are nuts and the location is pretty meh IMO

Neuschwanstein Castle, Visited when I was over for the G7. The place is incredible, it's literally like a fairytale castle out of Disney. If your ever in Bavaria I would strongly suggest a visit!

P.S. the backstory is quite fascinating too.

Quand on veut, on peut.

The Wawel Castle and Cathedral compound in Krakow, Poland
The American Radiator Building in Bryant Park
Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok's main airport)
Antwerp Centraal train station
All the old stations in classical style of the Moscow Metro

The Prada Marfa in Texas is a pretty interesting gag too

1/17/18

wow that american radiator building is beautiful

1/18/18

Right? The black and gold looks really good together, and the crown type top just caps it.

1/17/18

The Bank of China tower in Hong Kong. Hella sleek, futuristic, just overall fucking badass!

1/18/18

This one is also a great story because they didn't have any kind of Feng Shui consulting on it, so Hong Kong locals hated it, but the mainlanders didn't care.

1/18/18

This reminds me of 181 Fremont in SF

1/17/18

House of the Temple, Washington, D.C.

1/17/18

Hofburg Palace. It was the winter imperial palace of the Habsburg monarch in Austria-Hungary. It's the epitome of Baroque style.

1/17/18

If I am to pick a sky scraper I honestly think the Shanghai Tower looks really cool. It's tough though cause Shanghai has some cool buildings.

Love the Mt St Michel reference, mind-blowing place.

I'm partial to the Tour Montparnasse in Paris, so monolothic, glorious in its ugliness.

Torre Velasca in Milan is wild.

Bit basic but the Chrysler building is still so sexy.

1/17/18

Gaudi's Casa Batllo - Those balconies look like f'n shark jaws -

1/17/18

1) Red Keep, 2) Isengard, 3) The Wall (pre dragon / renovation) and 4) Pyke (Iron Islands) the fireplaces and interior design are truly elegant.

1/17/18

1 Bryant Park, NY. That is one sexy building.

101 Collins St, Melbourne.

One from my home country, tenants include GS, JPM, TPG and so forth... Great building and amazing interior.

1/18/18

I'm a fan of those old-school grand hotels, so naturally, either the Plaza (the Palm Court is gorgeous) or the Waldorf Astoria & the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

I wouldn't say 432 park is my favorite building, but I think it's an ironic building. It's the tallest building in ny and charges the most absurd $/sf, but looks like CIM got the most boring architecture to design it.

1/22/18

200 West Street

Also, the Gotham building in Singapore - I like slightly evil looking buildings
