Career Resources
My list is based on deal flow and exit opps. I’m not using a US influenced list as this is for London so don’t lecture me as to why centerview is so far down the list.
1.)PJT/Lazard (PJT if wanting to go distressed)
2.)PWP/Roth/Evercore
3.)Moelis/Houlihan/Jefferies
4.)The rest (Centerview, Gleacher etc)
Aren't Jeff and Houlihan MM?
Where would you rank "start-up" boutiques such as Robey Warshaw, Zaoui, D'Angelin, etc?
Gleacher and Jeffs are not EBs lol
1) PJT Partners, Centerview Partners
2)PWP, Evercore, Lazard, Houlihan (Rx only)
3)Moelis, Greenhill, Rothschild
4) Houlihan (CF), Gleacher
5) Arma, Ardea, etc
London and not US so I’d say:
1.)PJT
2.)Lazard
3.)Rothschild
4.)PWP
5.)Evercore
6.) Moelis
7.) Jefferies
8.) Houlihan Lokey
9.) Centerview
10.) The rest
Below is a better list imo. Does not include Zaoui and RW, not sure about these. Centerview I believe is really good but too small at this point in Europe. Career implications: lesser name outside finance (but still good opps), leaner deal teams which mean higher exposure to client, smaller but tighter network. You also need to make sure you like the team.
1. Lazard
2. PJT/Evercore/Roth
3. Moelis/[PWP]
4. Centerview/Greenhill
5. Jefferies/Arma/HL (HL above in RX)
6. Rest
PJT hands down imo. Best pay, great culture, generalist staffing model (get rx and m&a experience)
Pick Lazard or Roths if you only care about deal flow though
Do you know if PJT / Centerview are going to increase pay further to stay as the highest paying banks / match Guggenheim?
Roths over evercore and pwp?
Roth will have higher dealflow than Evercore but do smaller deals.
Anyone know typical hours for EBs in London? How much weekend work is there?
Depends a lot on EBs.
Probably from 65-70h avg on lower end to 80-90h avg on higher end. But has been improving recently at least people try.
PJT are on a mad one. great firm here in London.
Evercore, PJT and Lazard. I'd say Evercore on the rise while Lazard on relative decline.
How about FT Partners, William Blair, and Baird?
Guys you don't have anything else to do in your life than speaking about "Best EBs In London"? Who cares? In any case most of you will never break into the industry lmao
Centerview Partners in London is an elite firm. Not sure why it's getting disrespected on here.
