What kind of research do financial advisors (RIAs) buy to invest their clients' money?

Hey everyone,

Sorry if the question seems stupid, I was just wondering what kind of research financial advisors purchase in order to invest the assets they manage? I am thinking of small sized firms that don't have in-house analysts.

Thanks!
