What (Non IB, PE, or Consulting) finance job do you think is worth a look at?

On this site there is a lot of hype for these three traditional roles, I was wondering what other options out there in finance do you think are underrated or worth a look that are satisfying, good comp, provide good exit opps and are just all around worth a like that you think deserves more attention?

I think asset management jobs can be great. From the investing side, if you can lock in your position at a good shop you’re golden, lifestyle is amazing and your comp can be huge.

As well, the relationship managers can make a lot of money. Less than the investment team, but again you’re working less. A lot of shops will eventually let you buy in too, so you can have equity ownership on carry / fees.

Idk if this counts for what you’re asking, but corporate development can be a sick job. Especially if you’re doing it for a company you like.

I suggest Financial Advisory Services divisions at accounting firms. I worked at one of them. You could be getting some very, very technical stuff if placed into the right group. You will also be doing smaller-sized deals as financial advisors, depending on your firm's caliber.
