What should i do? Very preoccupied european URM with a NEED to land a IB job
First of all, i'm going to describe my background (sorry if this is repetitive but I really didn't found a single post alike as my situation).
So, i'm an upcoming freshman econ undergrad in a worldwide top ranked 50 university from Europe with a strongly rigorous academic program, which is exceptional in my country. (Although it's a public school, it has some interesting exchange programs with some targets, think of: UChicago, UPenn/Wharton and UCBerkeley). I will enroll in ECS clubs as Finance Club/Investment club.
I'm an URM, female, homosexual , i was sort of middle class and now i'm a working class girl with an asian-hispanic heritage. I'm aware that usually asians are not URM but i think my case it's a bit of particular (An asian orphan with a single hispanic parent unit). Ideologically i am sort of against about these diversity politicts insofar that they are based on things as sexuality (????????????) instead of merit, however, in terms of strategy playing the system it's the most intelligent choice here.
Lastly, i would like to add that my interests beyond finance are quite rich, as i'm studying philosophy and history at undergrad level (i hope i could publish some interesting essay or something alike about post-postmodern human epistemology on economics). I'm a native spanish and french speaker, and i'm currenetly learning italian and russian due to my notable interest about these cultures.
You will probably think i'm more the bookworm lecturer type than the typical A-type person who works in finance, but i do think working in finance (IB and/or later PE) is a thorouhgly wise career step, indeed, in the long term and in macroeconomic terms i think it's pretty intelectually stimulating (OFC setting aside excels and hard-hours)
Finally, i really could use any wisdom or opinions about how could i get spring weeks or SA internships. I am so lost because though i read everyday this website i know i'm still an ignorant and landing a job i'ts so difficult if you're not part of the finance elite or if you're not attending a top target! Any help will be appreciated!!!
(Sorry for any grammar mistakes english is not my 1st language)
