What should I do with my internship money?
I have about $15k saved from my internship and I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I was thinking about maxing out my Roth IRA for the year at $7k and investing the rest somewhere else. But I had some friends tell me that that the $$$ invested this year versus 2 years from now when I'm full time won't make a difference in the long run. They suggested I spend that money on something that would make me happy and to start the IRA/Investing in a couple years once I'm full time making 6 figures
Any tips on what to do with this? I can't really think of anything I really want or need but open to ideas
Max out your roth. The limit is 6k, not 7. Don’t listen to your friends. Start saving your money early on so you build good habits and get compounding working for you. For the remainder, I would personally save almost all of it, and maybe use 1k or so to buy something/a trip or whatever.
My guy you should of invested that in the stock market than holding in without investing. Individual stocks have soured dramatic increases since March. Depending on your risk tolerance levels, you should think about index funds as well very low risk.
