What the hell to do in Pittsburgh!?

Hey you filthy Monkeys, I am in need of some help once again. One of my best buddies from undergrad is getting Married in Pittsburgh, PA in about a month, so how the hell can we burn this city to the ground in three days?? There has to be some good places to go to (breakfast, day drink/darty, dinner, bars, etc.), so give me the best places you know of/things to do, if anything! Much appreciated!

Primanti Brothers for sandwiches. Lawrenceville or the Strip District for drinking.

Second this. You cant go there and not eat Primanti. See if there is a Pirates game while you're in town. PNC Park was voted best park in baseball last year, there is truly not a bad seat in the house, and the tickets are pretty affordable.

There is this place called Diesel club, usually decent and pretty busy, its in the South Side, some other bars in the area as well.

Would co-sign on the Pirates game option, too. Great stadium.

Diesel is good if you want to be packed in a room with a bunch of college kids sweating. If you're over like 24 you probably would prefer Cavo.

Blend Bar & Cigar - top notch new cigar bar in downtown Pittsburgh on the corner of 7th and Grant.

Thanks everyone! If anyone else knows of things to do, please let me know!

Go to Primanti's and get the "#1 and #2 best sellers" and Smallman Street Fries; Cavo nightclub in the strip district; The Yard in Shadyside for bottomless brunch; if you want low key/couply shit go to Mt Washington for a view of the city

Go to primantis and The Original Hot Dog Shop (when youre there dont call it the orginial hot dog shop just call it "The O"). Primantis has amazing sandwiches, and have pretty good bar specials. The O is famous for their fries theyre fried to perfection, their large size is around 3 pounds. I personally finished a large fries and a super dog in 13 minutes. One of my most triumphant moments actually. But besides those, I do not really remember names as I have not been able to go there for partying, just for swim meets, but I remember seeing signs for bars near UPitt dorm towers, and the famous Pitt cathedral building, that had ridiculously cheap specials. The O is in that area too so nothing says perfect drunk food like 3 pounds of fries. Check out that area and downtown.

Altius for dinner

Primanti's is definitely something you will need to try if you are new to Pittsburgh. Leaf and Bean is a cool BYOB cigar/coffee shop in the Strip District. Could pick up Primanti's and a six pack and go there to eat and have a smoke.

Mount Washington is going to be your place to go for a nice dinner. Altius has been mentioned and is good, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto is also good. LeMont is not bad as well. I recommend Gaucho Parilla over all, but not as fancy of a place, it is BYOB and they have amazing food. Also in the Strip. Kaya also is nearby and is Caribbean style food, very good.

PNC Park is a must as the stadium is the best in the major leagues. Rivers Casino is over by PNC Park as well and it's not that great, but hey sometimes you gotta throw a couple pumpkins on the table and see what happens. Everyone smokes in there though so be ready for that. Couple other bars over there worth checking out in between PNC and Heinz Field (which is next to Rivers Casino). You can also rent kayaks and kayak on the river near PNC Park.

Blush is a strip club downtown, but small. Cheerleaders in the Strip is better. Cavo is a nice night night club spot for professionals in their 20's (not a strip club). Blend is downtown, a wonderful cigar bar near the US Steel Tower, they have about a $250k air filtration system in there and the place is really clean. City Works is a new bar downtown in Market Square with about 100 beers on tap and a ton of TV's.

Lots to do in Pittsburgh if you're there for a weekend. Try to get a self driving Uber.

Sorry for being incredibly late on this post, I currently live in Pittsburgh and wanted to add some places/restaurants/bars/etc. If you've already had your weekend of fun, then hopefully this can help for a future trip to Pittsburgh.

South Side is filled with bars and clubs, it's definitely the spot for heavy partying and drinking. Jimmy D's is a popular club, second floor is entirely dancing. Mario's and Steel Cactus are bigger bars that are always packed with people. There's endless options as far as regular bars go. As far as food on the South Side, you can find anything from bar food to casual dining to fine dining. I recommend Mike & Tony's Gyros and BSBs for wings. If you're looking for a nicer spot to sit down and eat, I recommend Mallorca, great Spanish food.

Shady Side has some cool shops, especially on Walnut St. It's one of the richest areas in the city.

The Strip District is a must. A lot of people mentioned Primanti's Bros, definitely hit it up, just make sure you go to the one in the strip. My personal favorite is Cioppino, just because it has a really cool cigar bar in the back.

The downtown scene is okay, you have to know what you're looking for in terms of clubs, bars, or lounges. There's cool spot called tako that has really good food.

If you're into nerdy things, check out the Cathedral of Learning or CMU Museum of Natural History, both are in Oakland.

Everyone else touched on the big things. I will say that driving in this city is very difficult if you're not from here, so try to take an Uber as much as possible, you can even try for the autonomous ones. Overall, Pittsburgh is a cool little town and most of the people are very down to earth and friendly.

Primanti's is incredibly overrated drunk food, but it is the thing to do.

PNC Park is either the best, or second best, ballpark in the country. Right next to a casino too - which is a great place to blow some money and get shitfaced.

The Strip and Shadyside are solid places to walk around and shop.

The Southside can be fun for a night but it's generally pretty tool-ish.

Downtown is slowly becoming cool. Plenty of rooftop bars and fantastic restaurants.

Eh, I'll make it a good time, worst case scenario I'll go stag to some bar. Going there cuz of the hurricane, much more fun way to pass the weekend than at home without electricity...
