What to apply for
Hi guys. I am going into senior year of Uni. I completed an ER internship at a BB over spring and summer. Learned a hell of a lot, but the internship was unofficial, didn't go through HR, was unpaid, etc. It was a great experience, and it was made possible due to good relationship I had with senior analyst...
Anyway, now I am looking to go to IB for next year. Currently filling out applications for some other BB's. Not in NY, in Europe. They seem to suggest that they don't really hire straight into junior analyst programs.. basically just convert summer interns into analysts. Should I be applying for summer analyst internships or full time junior analyst positions? I feel like if I apply for the internship it would give me a better chance to get in and prove myself in IB. Any thoughts?
Apply for the summer internship and go in that way. If they told you straight up that they most likely won't hire you straight in, then that's pretty much your only option isn't it?
Do BBs really do unpaid internships? Did you get it through a connection?
The thing is they didn't tell me that... Just getting the vibe that way.. And yeah it was kind of different I guess. The analyst just gave me some work.
bump
Why can't you apply for both? I would focus on applying for internships, but I would still apply for full time as well. Worst case, they'll reject you.
Try to network with boutiques and cold call them!
Why don't you talk with the senior analyst and see if he can connect you with the right people? I am sure he'll know a few people you can talk with.
you should apply to both, increase your chances
How do you apply for both?
They both have different applications
yeah online i guess?
