What to do between Graduation and Full-Time
Graduating from undergrad this coming April (2022) and have signed on for a mid-August start for a role at a somewhat prominent fund in my country. Not sure what I should do during the time between graduation and start (~15 weeks) - likely going to travel for a bit with my SO (likely for 2-4 weeks) but other then that not really sure what to do during that time...
Somewhat bored during the final year of school with a feeling like classes are easy/don't matter that much and wondering if I should be recruiting for a role next year. Some thoughts were:
- Applying for some roles at a FAANG/Microsoft but not sure what the length of the internship terms usually are/if that may be valuable down the road
- Working at a startup for a bit (I worked at a startup before and think they would be open to having me back on flexible terms) but unsure if this really provides a lot of value unless its a big name startup (Y combinator type stuff)
- Vollenteering - think I'll do some of this anyway (weekends/evnings & stuff) to fill up some time and give back/to the less fortunate (soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc.) but not sure this would be enough to fill all of my time
- Applying for another finance/investing type internship at a firm that isn't looking to hire its interns back full-time (maybe?)
Any advice would be appreciated - this may just be me being lost in my final year and looking for a challenge to put my mind towards (maybe recruitment was the biggest challenge that I saw and now that its gone I'm not sure what to do).
Thanks in advance!
