What to Do If School Alumni Do Not Respond To Repeated Networking Emails

Hello Monkeys,

I have emailed a couple alumni from my school twice regarding phone conversations, but they never responded back to me. I was curious if anybody had any suggestions on what to do in this situation? I really like some of the banks that these alumni work at, and it has been a little disheartening to not have the opportunity to network for these firms. Also, would it be helpful to start cold emailing analysts from other schools at these firms, if the alumni from my school have not responded to me? Thank you in advance for the help!

Find a commonality or connection that the two of you have and include it in the email. I understand that they went to your school, but look for common interest in sports, philanthropy, hobbies etc. If they don't reply after that, just move on.

You could also try getting their phone number, but that's fairly tough to do. I would start emailing other analysts. Don't waste too much time on people who don't reply or don't seem eager to help along your journey.
