So...I'm not even sure where to begin or how to discuss this. From what I understand, out of the protests and riots in Seattle a group of Antifa/rioter/anarchists have taken over a section of the city, Capital Hill, and declared it an autonomous zone succeeded from the USA, it's called the "CHAZ", Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. From there it gets weirder, the leader, a transwoman, faked her death (apparent suicide) to boost morale (?), while another leader is a known sex offender. The CHAZ is running out of food, as the local homeless have taken most of their supplies and now are relying on donations (they have asked for vegan and soy food donations). Out of the power vacuum came a man named Raz (local rapper), with his armed buddies they have taken over and are establishing their rule over the CHAZ, implementing their version of the police (ironic?) and are extorting local businesses for money... yes, they accept bitcoin. Today is only Day 3.
Why isn't the media covering? I an armed group had taken over part of NYC, don't you think it would gather some attention on in the mainstream media?

So first of all, there is zero actual evidence that "antifa" was involved in rioting. No rioting or looting arrests have yielded "antifa" members. There is plenty of evidence, however, that the far-right "Boogalo Boys" have been involved in rioting, because they have been arrested and identified as such.
Second, this "CHAZ" thing is both fringe and dumb and will ultimately be disbanded one way or another, just like every other time a fringe group claimed an area autonomous area to be autonomous. It looks like to date that the authorities are talking to them in order to deescalate the situation, which seems rational, especially with the knowledge that the city is on the right side of the law. There is also no evidence to date that "antifa" is involved in "CHAZ."
Third, CNN is covering it, so I'm not sure why you are claiming it "isn't getting attention in the mainstream media."
Finally, what is the point of this thread? Do you expect people to seriously defend this, or is it just yet another "look at these stupid libs!!!11" thread on WSO that attempts to paint half the country with a fringe broad brush while at the same time acting indignant when people attempt to do the same to them?
These are strange times and I thought this would fit in the Off-Topic forum. Well an armed group of "whatever" has taken over part of a major US city, I think that's newsworthy, don't you? I don't recall this ever happening, at least in my lifetime.

Someone having an opinion does not make them a neo facist. There is evidence that ANTIFA was part of this zone. Facism is "dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition". I don't believe your description is quite right. CHAZ is akin to "Amsterdam" from the Wire. The city is allowing it for now.

This is why I always call out liberals for their record of never creating a single successful society. CHAZ is when liberals finally get out of their academia and try to build a society from almost scratch.
Some hilarious results so far: -they invited homeless people in, those stole the food and left. Now the liberals are begging for (possibly vegan) food to salvage their embryo of society. -They tried cultivating and they can't grow actual food even if their lives depend on it. -They walled themselves in as first thing. -there's a warlord running amok -no police, crime all over the place.
