What to do when networking does not help (non-targets)?

Since mid-January I've been networking like crazy, reaching out to every possible person through my family/friends. The list of people who could potentially help me out is getting smaller and smaller. I have three more people to contact and after that I am done.

What's next step? Just keep applying to small boutiques/MM until every single one gets my resume?

P.S.: I have two ibanks recruiting on my campus at the beginning of March, but I'd be competing with students from two big target schools, both are within 1.5 hours of driving. I am hoping for the best, but want to prepare for the worst.

P.P.S.: please let's keep this thread helpful. There are a lot of students who are in similar situation. Comments like "non-targets suck," "you'll never make it," or "should've gone to Harvard" won't help.

Haha I'm just kidding. I am in the same situation. You just have to keep doing what you are doing and keep networking. Keep emailing and cold-calling boutiques but also talk to EVERYONE you know. You never know if someone knows someone else who knows someone else who may be able to help. Networking never stops. Just make sure everyone you talk to knows what you are looking for so you are at the top of their mind if they happen to run into someone who may be able to help you out. Trust me, you haven't exhausted your entire network. Keep going, its the only way to do it in this market.
