What to do when you have multiple interviews at different companies?
Wanted to know if anyone can give me some insight. I guess this is a good problem to have but I am interviewing with multiple companies right now, all for the same type of position as a financial analyst. All pay well. Problem is I am most interested in the company, which is a bank, in which I am in the beginning phase of the interview process. Another company in industry I am in the final rounds. If I were to hypothetically get an offer from the in industry position what do I tell them since i want the bank job the most?
If you get the offer from the industry position ask how long you have before you need to give them a final answer. Then go back to bank you are beginning rounds in and let them know your situation, they should be able to speed up the timeline for you some. Worse comes to worst, you accept the industry position receive the offer from the bank and have to renege on the industry firm.
Sounds like a good plan. I am interviewing with 3 different companies all in different states so this should be interesting.
Any decent company will understand that a good candidate will be interviewing at multiple different places so they will understand you may be at different stages of the interview process elsewhere.
They will also want you to be sure that if you decide to join them it's because you have weighed up your options and decided you really want to work for them over other opportunities. I know from experience that no reputable company will force you to rush into a decision about joining them. A 3rd party recruiter may tell you that you need to decide ASAP but this is never the case. The company will always give you adequate time to come to the right decision.
Basically i'd just be straight up with them that you are interviewing at another company and want to get all your offers on the table before coming to such an important decision.
Awesome advice. I will definitely be straight up with them. Thanks for the insight.
Is it a good idea to let firms know what other interviews for different companies you had? (Originally Posted: 07/20/2017)
Some firms I applied for sent me a survey asking me what other jobs did I apply for and what other companies have I interviewed for. Should I answer this survey? How is it any of the firm's business what other interviews for different companies have I been to?
Is it part of an plot to see if I have any other bidders in the job market for my employment and whether or not they can give me a lowball offer, average offer or great job offer based on supply and demand?
Never had a survey, but during an interview process it would common to ask whether I am interviewing elsewhere. In a normal situation I'd say "No".
How should a student approach interviews when applying for internships at multiple companies? (Originally Posted: 12/20/2016)
Hi, I am seeking to secure my first internship. I applied to multiple companies. I understand that there are certain unwritten rules when it comes to interviewing with multiple companies. I am just trying to increase my chances of securing a summer internship. Do you have any suggestions or advice when it comes to applying and interviewing with multiple companies? Thank you for your time, guidance, and response.
"Certain unwritten rules"? What are you even talking about? Everybody applies to multiple internships at once, don't overthink it-- I once did three interviews in a single day, the last time I went through the recruiting process. Just go with the flow.

Hi All,
I have 5 meetings in a row next week, and i'm wondering if anyone has any advice for a bunch of interviews back to back....etc. They start at 10:00AM and basically go right through untill 5:00. I think i will get mentally wiped out, so just looking for some tips to stay sharp and make the most out of the day.
Any tips other than bring a stick of deodorant?
Thanks!
Peppermint. It's a brain stimulant. Also keeps your breathe fresh.
adderall? Turkey & avacado on whole wheat?
had situations similar to this. its only 7 hours. big breakfast and a lot of coffee in the morning. stress and adrenaline will keep you sharper than you'd expect, even for the later stuff. worse case, pack a few cliff bars or something
Awesome, thanks guys
