What you major really doesn't matter, try to get experience. I'm a history major (I personally think the CS, econ and fin department at my school all suck) but learned on my own and worked as a quant one summer - you want to have a solid mix of CS, econ, fin, stats/math and even physics. Learn esp. MATLAB/SIMULINK (if you can't get it, then R), python/NumPy/SciPy/Pandas... and try to build an algo trading system on the side.
