What type of hair products do (male) bankers use?

To those bankers with spiked up hair looking all good and sharp, what type (and brand) of gel and other hair products do you use on a regular basis?

The gel I currently use is crappy. The effect dies out in the early afternoon.

I haven't seen that many bankers wearing that type of hair product. I used to in high school...

I'd say it's time to update that hair. I like to use American Crew "Fiber."

I let it dry then mess it up and style it (only takes 5 min). That gives a bit more of a styled look without that "wet" sheen to it. You can still do a lot of the same stuff with it, it just doesn't look like you have a ton of crap in your hair.

Another vote here for American Crew Fiber. You don't need much, it's got pretty good hold, and most importantly - it dries without sheen, so you don't look like a douche.

Actually, I'd recommend Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers. A lot of the cheap stuff has some nasty shit in it that can contribute to early hair loss. You'll pay a good bit more (2-3 times as much for some) but it's worth it.

I totally spiked my hair with that in the 90's in elementary school when that was cool.

Why in the world would you use that?

What stores do you recommend going to to find good hair product like paste?

I use Aveda. Really great stuff.

Paul Mitchell is good too, but I prefer Aveda.

there are three main premium "high-end" men's brands of mosturizers, lotions, shaving creams, shampoos, etc. Kiehl's, Anthony's and Zirh. I found (annecdoatally of course) zirh to be the most common among senior businessmen in NY. But aside from men-specific items (e.g. related to facial skin and/or shaving), most of the best products are women's. Nevertheless I give and receive zirh starter kit gift baskets every year...

Please don't wear gel. Gelling my hair was cool in middle school when i was trying to resemble a member of Green Day or any other punk band.

If I use anything, it is Tea Tree Shaping Cream by Paul Mitchell. Mostly if it's windy outside or I haven't had time to take a shower.

I just buy whatever shampoo doesn't make my hair fall out.

Again, please don't wear gel. We're not on the Jersey Shore.

Zirh is good shit and will keep you from looking 35 at age 23 after a year of working 12-18 hour days. Art of Shaving is good for shaving cream; if you shave often use a shaving brush it makes a huge difference.

Gatsby Hair Wax is very Asian of you, darrenhiggins... I'll admit though - it provides an excellent hold.

Menscience and Dior have an excellent range of products available at semi-painful to almost unbearably rip-off prices... the products really do work and make your skin feel and look good... whatever benefit they have is probably lost by the guilt I feel after dropping like $250 on skin care products on quarterly trips to the department score though...

If I were you - I'd avoid the nice stuff - it's habit forming.

would love to hear more product suggestions from guys with straight poufy hair. the pomades seem to look really greasy in my fine hair. i really have no clue what to do. i'm the type of guy who prefers a natural look. but i also want to look good, and feel like the op where i'd like to take better care of my appearance, but i don't know where to start or what to do.

Do some of you people really still use gel? You may as well use Soul Glo.

I do have straight, poofy, thin hair. I use the shaping cream. To the guy above with straight poofy hair, try Paul Mitchell tea tree shaping cream. It works best when your hair is 100% dry, otherwise your hair looks greasy. It almost looks like hair gel if you put it on when your hair is wet. It also makes your hair look a lot fuller.

I may try the American Crew Fiber, it seems like a lot of you guys have good reviews of it.
