What would you be doing if today was pre-2007?

My generation of work is a lot different from past generations. Typically, its not uncommon to try to work for a bulge bracket then move to the buy side currently.

But out of curiousity, what would you want to have been doing or have as a career goal if it was pre-2007? What firms would you want to work for and positions would you target?

I just find it interesting to learn a bit about recent history as I am a bit ignorant to what a 23-25 year old analyst/associate would've been like then.

if it was pre 2007, I would be a 12 year old, probably chilling in 7th grade, still trying to figure out how babies are made

K I'm introducing a hypothetical time machine now. Betting on lottery or other crap isn't allowed.

I was working in Hong Kong, earning much more than I was worth.

Career goal wise - I was making it up as I went along. Fortune has been good to me.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.
