What would you do? - Starting at my firm in a month
Sent to me by a rookie starting at my firm in a month:
So I went to look at this apt in Hoboken yesterday, it's an apt share. Now the place is decent. I get a 12X14 room, utilities, cable, wifi, are all included for $850/month. I think this is a hell of a deal, so I asked him why the previous roommate moved out, and he goes, he didn't move out, I kicked him out cuz I caught him wanking off with my girlfriend's panties on.
The dude is a hydraulic engineer and his girlfriend's a dancer at Scores, and I'm thinking to myself, do I really want to be in this situation? Live in girlfriend, the dude might be a bit crazy, and the girlfriend's a stripper. Or is this something you guys would jump at if given the opportunity?
wow, interested to hear what others think....I don't think it would really matter, as long as it doesnt take him an hour to get to work.
Best advice I ever got in terms of roommates, living with people, etc.
"If you have any misgivings before you move in with someone, don't. You have enough shit to worry about in life without introducing another potential problem that you could just as easily avoid."
I think this applies to this situation even more so simply because the guy is already going into a very high stress profession where the chance of failure is high. Why put yourself in a position where there could be yet another distraction?
LOL. If that actually happened. Tell him to keep looking. Live in girlfriend = paranoia. She was probably flirting with him/v.v. and the insecure(Google "hydraulic engineer") boyfriend found an excuse to kick him out. He's looking for a quick replacement (which explains the great bargain) to cut down on expenses until he feels the new roommate is a threat. Then rinse and repeat
just dont wank off on his girlfriend's stuff and you'll be straight. actually don't do anything with his girlfriend and you'll be fine lol.
Move in. Meet her friends.
Emotionally-damaged, jaded, STD-ridden women with connections to thugs. Yum.
