What's a Normal Amount of 1st Rd Interviews to Conduct for Full-Time?

I didn't really think I'd have a good shot at landing interviews, so I cast a wide net when applying on my school's career website for full-time positions. I guess I underestimated my resume or something cause I got a pretty good response and have 13 first round interviews scheduled (10 banking, 3 consulting) for next week, including 5 alone on Tuesday and 4 on Thursday.

I didn't do a banking internship and didn't even go through recruiting last year, so I'm not sure if this is too much, and I'll be overextending myself, or if this is a normal amount for prospective bankers. I'm also not sure how second rounds would work (if I even get there), if they would overlap or not.

I spoke to an alum who is MD/C-level at an elite boutique (Lazard/Evercore/etc.) and he said that it isn't uncommon for a strong candidate to interview at 10 places and, when all is said and done, he gets 1 offer. It's all a probability game with IB; the wider you cast your net, the better shot you have at catching something. 13 first rounds is definitely not too many. Make the most of this opportunity to interview at a lot of places. People at a semi-target like me are happy to get 5 or 6 interviews and I'm sure the complete non-target kids are happy to get 1.

You can always arrange with the interviewers to not have the interviews overlap. Shouldn't be an issue.
