What's the minimum amount of time you should remain in a position?
What's the minimum number of weeks/months/years you think that somebody should be in a position for before accepting and starting a position elsewhere?
For context: I've just been offered an internal promotion + transfer to a better group, but I would only be able to stay in the role for a month before I leave my firm to go to grad school (unless they want to double my salary). A month definitely seems too short to me since I don't want to burn bridges, but I'm curious what everybody else thinks about the question more generally.
