what's worse? higher taxes or no porn?

From Christian Newswire dated yesterday:
http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/6425818602…

There is one thing Santorum, Romney and Gingrich can agree on:

"Vigorous prosecution of those who violate our nation's obscenity laws is critical now. Our nation is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography that is readily available - even to children on the Internet and in other venues"

Considering our soon to be nominee Mitt already has a history of going after porns (http://www.economist.com/blogs/gulliver/2011/02/h…), I am left here to think. What's worse? higher taxes with Barack or no porn with Mitt?

Please don't.

RP all the way, but since he's not winning, I'll take higher taxes.

No porn would bring on a new crime wave like what prohibition did back in the 1920's (or 30s or 40s. I don't know dates, don't quote me)

There will be porn crime lords that smuggle magazines, CD's, and fleshlights through borders and instead of coke farms, they'll have printing factories running 24/7 in mexico to meet demand. It gets so bad that they will have to illegally open up more printing factories and make them run an extra hour a day just to meet quota. Imagine that. The guy behind all that will be 20x richer than Al Pacino ever wished to be. He becomes so rich, that he'll just start tacking on more hours to days until profit is no longer a word, it becomes obscenity.

No alcohol for a while? O.K., but no porn? No can fucking do.

There will be gang wars for printing factories and eventually, demand for illegal pornography will outweigh supply and prices will skyrocket. The leading factions will have more assets than Apple in present day. Their main market will be teenage boys between the ages of 13-17. Porn in the future, something so simple and harmless, will be viewed as the marijuana of today. All this will be brought on by shitty legislation.

Thousands of unemployed soldiers will form mercenary factions that will be lent out to the porn-lords to do their bidding.

A-list pornstars will be regarded as A-list celebrities who get contracted off to the sound of a few million per year. They will be the Kobe Bryant and Dwane Wade of their days as Alexis Texas and Faye Reagan become a household name. As time goes on, what we now regard as the lower echelons of society will do an about face and be the leading echelons of the future. A-list pornstars will be comparable to our sport stars today while farmers will be seen in the same light as engineers. Understandably, with the low barriers of entry to both professions, there will be a huge surge of people into both workforce where only the best cocksuckers and soil-toilers rise to the top. It will be the IB and CO of the future.

Drug problems will subside while abductions and rape vids/magazines become the new heroin. Maybe this legislation is a ploy to get Kodak out of the red. Whatever the case may be, I propose that we invest heavily in printing factories in Mexico and Canada.

You can't just ban porn. Not from a legal perspective, I'm talking about in real life, no one could actually ban porn. Its literally impossible. Here are some stats for you:

1) Every second, $3k is spent on porn (who still pays for this shit, I mean really?)

2) Every second ~28,000 people are looking at porn on the internet

3) Its a multibillion dollar industry that employs a fair number of people (are those girls considered people?)

This is nonsensical pandering to stupid evangelicals and their even stupider housewives.

For real?

Agree with the rest of your comment. There are few things that have beaten the legal odds as effectively as porn.

It was a joke, clearly they aren't people.

it would be really easy for WSers to get porn chics if porn were banned because it would put those bitches out of business and they would be desperate for money

They'd go back to their pimp or drug dealer, girls like that don't usually want anything to do with an excel nerd unless you're paying them by the hour or importing them from Eastern Europe.
