What's Your Favorite Conspiracy Theory?

Because the weather sucks, I'm bored, and feel like stirring shit up, what are your favorite conspiracy theories? I generally like to make fun of them and don't believe 99% of them since I've seen the incompetence of the Federal Government first hand in a variety of areas, but I do think it's occasionally fun to go down the rabbit hole.

Mine is definitely the JFK assassination. Connections to the mob, the magic bullet, the grassy knoll, and the CIA at it's shadiest period in history.... compelling story if nothing else.

-9/11 being much deeper than it seems, Silverstein taking insurance policy out days before, WTC 7, tenants of WTC were interesting, pentagon had announced it had "misplaced" trillions of dollars on 9/10, trials being taken place behind closed doors; so many "coincidences" in a short span of time

-Vegas shooting, being related to something other than a "random maniac shooting people",

-Epstein and everything in relation to it

Not enough people talk about how weird the Vegas shooting was. I wouldn't be surprised if that one were somehow meant to draw attention away from something else. The other two are also good ones, but the Vegas one stands out to me as being less widely spread.

Was blown away by how quickly this whole ordeal was swept under the rug/ignored by the media... I recall that about a week after the initial news surfaced, all coverage ceased.

I thought the 9/11 stuff was complete conspiracy bullshit with all the JEt FuEl CaNt MeLt StEeL bEaMs memes, but a family member who worked for the state department had me watch this and it... certainly changed how certain I felt about my old stance. Highly recommend anyone who's doubtful there wasn't foul play involved to watch it. They address quite literally every argument made that supports the "official" narrative with evidence and testimony from people involved at nearly all stages leading up to and after the event.

I legit can't keep up with this. I get fascinated half way then it becomes so much stuff altogether that I have no idea what's going on anymore.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

I have a very, very liberal friend who is from a white trash redneck family in the deep south, and he is always sharing with me the Q conspiracy that his family is always forcing upon him. There is a vast satanic pedophile cabal and Trump is the secret leader of the resistance. I would say at this point he's one of the few true Q conspiracy experts and he posits that 5-6% of the population is a Q believer. I'm left speechless each time he communicates to me about his family's derangement.

There's a giant active volcano under Yellowstone in Wyoming, and if it erupts, it could wipe out the US. Conspiracists believe the government knows when the eruption will happen.

It's actually a fact. Publicly know one actually. Geologists working for the park are government employees and they can estimate when it'll erupt with confidence interval of couple thousand years or so.

Luckily it won't happen for another 700k years or so

Not my favorite conspiracy theory, but certainly one that makes me question its truth is...

Michael Jordan's Dad was butchered and stuffed into the trunk of his Cadillac by the Mob, this was in order to send a message to MJ. (He was known to have a serious gambling addiction)

In addition, MJ's first retirement was really a suspension (18 months exactly) by the NBA.

This is not one conspiracy but I've always felt the NBA draft was a bit sketchy, with high picks often going to hometown teams or teams in distress. LeBron and D-Rose both went to their home teams, and the Pelicans have gotten bailed out by Zion and AD. I am probably missing a few examples. There's also the conspiracy that the 1985 draft lottery was rigged by the Knicks' envelope being frozen so it was easier to pick out, and thus the Knicks landed Patrick Ewing.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

Of course systemic racism exists.

And it's instituted by the very people who oppose it in the name of "Affirmative Action" and "protect Black Businesses" or whatever discriminatory BS they'll pull off in the name of "protecting minorities" and "racial equality".

You know what it sounds like is "White Men's Burden" that racist colonialism used to justify colonizing Africa. "Oh look at these poor Black people. We need to help them out by making them more civilized and putting them 'under our protection'". No they didn't need your "help" and the sure don't need your "help" now. Just fuck off and mind your business.

Yeah fight racism with more racism. In order to protect your freedom, we'll have to take away some of it. Classic politicians and dumb ass white libs. I wipe my ass with the new bills you pass Congress.

kurt def didnt kill himself. i whole heartedly believe he was killed.

Not very dramatic or really even a theory, but that the closest thing to the Illuminati is large family offices collaborating and shaping the future of technology with their investments. Which I don’t see as a bad thing tbh

yup this is extremeley similar to the practice of Sayanim  by the Mossad where people with connection to Israel can help them with operations overseas (theres thousands of them in UK and US). A side note: Epstein,Wexner, Maxwell and the rest were very likely invovlved in something of this nature or exactly

The problem is that the US is spending billions on protecting Israel which can definately tend for itself considering how they dealt with covid along with an extremeley intelligent population that has one of the best tech hubs in the world while we we can't even help the people at home and deal with the issues at home first.

It seems to me the interests of Israel lie mainly in living quiet, peaceful lives and liking America/Americans.

They absolutely are fucking not. Google the USS Liberty and the Lavon Affair.

You mean the incident from the 1960s? I'm sure nothing has changed in [checks calendar] 54 years...

Why don't you just drop the pretense and say that you hate Jews. It's what we all know you're thinking.

I'm more getting the vibe that you're willing to excuse attacks on Americans from our supposed "ally".

But yeah, I'm the hateful one.

Every anti-Semite brings up an event from 1967 to support their position that Jews are bad, the US should forget Israel and/or Israel should be destroyed. I wasn't born yesterday. I'm well aware of your kind.

Back to the usual that criticism of legit things Israel has done is antisemitism?

Where is anyone advocating that Israel be destroyed? Arguing that the US should be more skeptical of their motives (like we would any other country) and distengal from our entrenched relationship is a sound policy prescription. If you think it's antisemitism, you are the type of person who gives fuel to real antisemites. Dumbass.

I wasn't born yesterday. Every single Jew-hater in the U.S. always cites--100% of the time--the USS Liberty incident from more than a half-century ago to try to justify why the U.S. should cut off Israel today.

Newsflash--the U.S. and Israel were barely allies in the 1960s. At best, the alliance was loose. The reason Israel fought 3 wars in 7 years was because the U.S. was barely its ally--no US ally nation would be under existential threat of destruction. Also, until 30(?) years ago, Israel was run by socialists and communists. Back here in the real world, the Israeli left has been completely and utterly defeated, so much so that there is barely a political left remaining in Israel. Trying to argue 2021 policy based off of a 1967 incident is a willful disregard for the facts on the ground; there has been more than 50 years of evolution in ties since the USS Liberty incident..

Lmao the "Deep State" in DC.

Im not saying there isn't one. There really could be a small fraction of folks that pull all of these strings, but I doubt there is some major conspiracy that hasn't been leaked yet. I do agree that politicians are corrupt, but I'm more in the vein of thinking that they are more individually corrupt than as a massive group. Who the hell knows tbh

There absolutely is a deep state in DC of unelected bureaucrats that run and manipulate things.. That's not even a conspiracy.

Array

I don't believe it's a coordinated effort with a central control element. I think it's more-so the types that take these jobs are already self-selecting into those roles. The "deep state" is just the same type of poli-science nutjob multiplied across all government organizations that "want to make a difference".

I figure a good analogy would be investment banking. Is IB toxic as a concept? I don't believe so, I think it's just the toxic people self-select into taking more promotions and reinforce their insane and masochist work habits down the line. I think the ones that aren't fitting that mold are filtered out with better exit opportunities where they aren't killing themselves with work.

That many conspiracy theories exist only to compare to, and discredit, “conspiracy theories” that are actually true

Does jet fuel burn hot enough to burn steel?

Jet fuel, which burns at around 800 to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit, may not reach the 2,750-degree melting point of steel.

UFOs. Especially after the government announced that they don't have an explanation for them. Some people think it could be the government just blaming aliens to shift focus away from the idea that Russia or China may have leapfrogged the United States in military technology while others think the government is being honest and seriously thinks it could be aliens.

My new one is that there's an attempt to inflate meat prices to force most of the population into soy shit. Fucking liberals at it again. They are really finding new ways to ruin society. Motherfuckers.

I believe in outer space and have a major side interest in astronomy. I'd love to go to space at least once before I die.

That said...I think a lot of what NASA releases to the public just is outright fabricated
