When applying to FP&A internships on indeed should I attach a cover letter?

My resume is a little weak but I used the WSO format and made the most of it. Would attaching a well written cover letter be beneficial?

I know for investment banking they're usually useless, at least according to other posts on this site... But there is very little content on FP&A cover letters.

I work for a F50 company and when sitting through resume review meetings, everyone definitely reads cover letters. You should attach a good cover letter because I've seen people willing to give an applicant a first round interview in spite of a weak resume due to a strong cover letter.

It might be different at other companies, but a general rule is that including a well written cover letter has the potential to help your chances whereas not including one has the potential to hurt. People may not read it if you do attach it, but they will notice that you didn't attach one.

I suppose it couldn't hurt if you don't think you would otherwise get an interview. We don't require cover letters and I typically will not read it if we do get one, especially if it's long.
