When is it appropriate to follow up on a first round interview?

Hi - I know this seems very late but I had a first round interview with an MM (IBD role) around this time last week and I haven't heard back. Is it alright to follow up asking for updates? They did tell me they still have to decide on dates and the timeline was kind of play-by-ear so I suppose it could be anything right now but I'm just getting more nervous really. Also for context this was conducted by 1 analyst only, no HR. The next round is the superday so I understand the wait might be on the longer end? How often does it take for banks to get back after the first round? Would love to get any info but don't wanna come off as annoying if they themselves don't know what's up yet. Just wanted a frame of reference and some advice ://

Honestly I'm surprised that some firms still are still going this late? Maybe things got pushed back because of COVID or because I'm from a non-target and didn't see things pop up on Handshake and my searches until quite late idk. If anyone has insight that would be much appreciated!

Hey ugrad_monke, I think you deserve a response...heck, everyone does. We're listening, sorry about the delay ...my best guess at places on WSO that could help:

bumppp - from snooping around the site & more it seems like the waiting time is between a few days-2 weeks but a lot of the time there is no response at all. Do I wait until after 2 weeks or do I full send now?
