When the Fuck do you Do the GMAT?
Analyst 1 in a Tier 1 BB in London... Assuming my goal is 222 (2 years IB, 2 years PE then business school) when exactly am I supposed to have the time to do the GMAT/GRE?
Tried to have a bit of a life during university so didn't do it in my final year. Could anyone share some insights? Do you just do it during your garden leave or something? Surely, you don't do it during your banking years?
The summer between 5th and 6th grade
Been thinking about this myself. I HATE studying for tests because I'm bad at executing the typical strategies that people use to prep. Knowing that I would personally just start studying as soon as possible and just keep it up with. Dont study for the test but study to learn the material because it doesnt really change year after year.
The summer after graduation and before you start your first job. Your testing skills are the best they’ll be the rest of your life, and if you don’t go back to get your MBA by 27, you shouldn’t got.
Its so classic of my VP to not read my shit /s
.
By the time you apply to b school, the GMAT might not even matter as much
What? You need the GMAT for b school. GMAT also offers an online version where you can take it from home. Why would the GMAT not matter?
1) Lots of business schools have been ditching the GMAT requirement since Covid
2) Most business schools now accept the GRE, which is magnitudes easier than the GMAT
I did it during second-semester senior year but it really only took 1-1.5 months of diligent studying. I know some people do it between IB and PE or just study slowly when they have time in their analyst/associate years. Sounds obvious but what other choice do you have.
