When to give up on buyside
All,
Quick background on me: non-target, liberal arts guy guy bounced around a few temp backoffice jobs before landing in a ratings shop doing middle market/spec grade ratings.
Been trying to break into the buyside for years now with no luck. Have had to send 100s of emails, eventually succeeded getting a few interviews, but unfortunately no luck. Been trying with networking but seeing no payoff really in terms of opportunities for me. Now the years have gone along and I am 30. Doing well in my current role but want to leave as I've been here way too long and would like to try something new.
Wanted to get your guys opinion, should I just go to a bank and work in their credit department (Risk/PM) and forget about buyside or should I stick it out? Honestly at this point, seems I just keep spinning my wheels and I dont get anywhere. Would love some insight.
Thanks
