Where to find ticket and traffic data when analyzing retail companies?

Some equity research reports for retail companies usually discuss ticket growth and traffic growth. However, I've been curious about how those ER analysts got those data? I couldn't find any quantitative data in the companies' 10k or other public filings. Are there any unique ways to calculate those? Or they are proprietary methods belong to those big shops?

Thanks.
