Where would you go for vacation close to NYC?

F here. Thinking about taking a few days off from work and going somewhere to have fun.
I am looking for somewhere that is not far from NYC where I could relax and also meet many single guys. I'm planning to go alone. I don't like golf and I don't care too much about being close to a beach.
Recommendations?

I don't want to have to take a plane.

Who takes a plane from NYC to Newark? lol

In the current environment it is going to be hard to find the nice and relaxing and meeting a bunch of single people. In general the second happens in larger cities (I.e. nyc) or at party destinations (vegas, hamptons if in NE, etc) which tend to lack the relaxing (outside of the spas), but more importantly are pretty much shutdown right now (as are the spas...).

For relaxing and outdoor activities I would recommend Maine (Portland or area around there), berkshires (a few high end resorts, I.e. wheatleigh, Blantyre both in MA are high end), finger lakes, or hamptons.

If you have to stay in the northeast (guessing driving and not getting on a plane) your best bet is probably the hamptons. Can still do some wine tasting, and some of the areas further out (montauk) are starting to get a bit more lively with people, although not the “bar scene” where you meet singles.

Then there is the option to get a few friends and charter a plane to bermuda, but that depends on your bankroll...
