Kidding with that last one. Don't know.

Nobody remembers this? I'm not exactly an expert on Barclays, but I'm pretty sure they bought Lehman. Doesn't that imply there's a gym there?
Yes. Barclays has a gym on the 21st floor. It's $80-100/month.
No lap pool though, which was a dealbreaker for me. For a nice, cost-effective pool in midtown, I recommend Manhattan Plaza at 42nd & 10th. The only drawback is that it's at 10th ave.
Better to go to Crunch gym in my opinion. Probably the best gym there is in NYC and same price basically.
Equinox baby.
But yes, Crunch is also superb, NYSC if you want the nitty gritty workout people and buff black guys who take up two machines at a time and no one complains because they'll kill you.
Few of the bulge brackets still give you a free gym membership (those were the good days...) Many help negotiate better terms at the major gyms in the area (lower/no initiation, shorter contracts, better rates).
CS has fitness center on-site, free for SA (not sure about FT??)

People tend to think life is a race with other people. They don't realize that every moment they spend sprinting towards the finish line is a moment they lose permanently, and a moment closer to their death.
JPM--No. Jamie does not like gyms in his office buildings
GS--Yes

"For all the tribulations in our lives, for all the troubles that remain in the world, the decline of violence is an accomplishment we can savor, and an impetus to cherish the forces of civilization and enlightenment that made it possible."
Confirmed source, CS has a gym, it is very inexpensive (below 50 bucks a month) and pre-tax, realizing it to be the cheapest full service gym.. ever. It is also like Goldman's gym.. you walk in and get to use their shirts, jock straps, shorts, socks, and they even give you a locker with your membership.. and i hear there is a steam room plus full service shower (and all the toiletries included)
Don't know for sure but haven't heard of any SF banks having a gym on-site (e.g. there's not one at 555). Everybody uses Equinox, in FiDi if you're in SF or in Palo Alto if you're down there

Thanks for the info. Do people use 24? Equinox seems overpriced.
I'm failing to see the relevance of this thread....if you work there, you'd know, if you don't, you can't use it anyway, and people better not be making employment decisions based off of gyms. #cfagrump

JPM and GS do for sure
GS and CS do. Barclays and JPM do not.
Dimon is too cheap.
Barclays has a gym
MS/Citi/BAML?
Know someone in CS and M.S can confirm they have on site gyms.
Citi and GS do -- neither one is free.

I know movies have portrayed banks to have gyms and locker rooms for their employees to use. I was wondering if that was a real thing at banks in NY?
The best way to make a career decision: do they have a gym and is it free?
Lol no
correction nvm didnt know we had a gym, how convenient
At least one bank does- GS has a gym that takes up an entire floor in their 200 West building.
I hope so
Alot of banks surprisingly do.
anybody know if there is one in 245 park?
nope - and not at 270 either
The banks really need to dedicate an entire floor
to have a SEX DUNGEON!
In London yes, few banks have gym in their building. Especially in Canary Wharf
Goldman, MS, and Citi all do. I’m sure there are others
Barclays and DB do as well.
Do you even lift bro?
90 a month? Holy shit I pay 14 a month at home lol
NWFS

Anyone know if GS gym is free for SA's, and if not how much it costs?
Why would you get a free membership as SA?
Any information on corporate partnerships with gyms offering discounted rates for those BB's without gyms in-house?

Can we know for the SF BBs as well. Thanks.
