Which functions are commonly included when referring to "Wall Street"?
Surely, working on Wall Street doesn't necessarily imply working on Wall St. physically. So, what is often included when people say that they "work on Wall Street". Of course investment banking and trading functions are part of "Wall St." (provided they're actually working in New York anyway). But what about other functions? Is private equity a part of "Wall Street"? What about Asset Management or real estate? I know there isn't a strict definition, but there must be some generally accepted industries...
The investing side is surely included. I mean that's where the real money is..
I agree the investing side (private equity, hedge funds, etc) has to be included. Any other thoughts?
people who say they "work on Wall Street" are generally tools. Especially if they are not in NYC.
