Which Internship To Take

Hey all, I was just offered an internship in two different teams within Risk Management at a super-regional bank. I'm currently a sophomore at a non-east coast target school and was wondering which would put me better position for junior year recruiting.

Just as a background, I'm not too concerned about my GPA and ECs, and already have experience in IB thru a NYC-based boutique.

  1. Risk Analytics in Pittsburgh
Pros: I feel that this will diversify my experiences as this team deals mostly with qualifying and interpreting quantitative results for upper management in support of decision making for retail and other commercial activities.

Cons: It's in Pittsburgh and doesn't deal directly with the markets or finance industry.

  1. Market Risk Management in NYC
Pros: After speaking with the head of this team during my interview, he seemed to have a very "Wall Street-like" approach towards his responsibilities. This team is like the traditional market risk teams at other BBs. Plus, since it's in NYC, I feel like I can do a lot of in-person networking and office visits to complement the over-the-phone informational interviews I've started to conduct.

Cons: Though MRM is in support of Asset Management activities of the bank, I feel like I'm sort of pigeon-holing my experiences going into junior year recruiting given my background in IB. In the off-hand chance that BBs and top boutiques scale back recruiting next year (a very real possibility), I feel like I may be at a disadvantage compared to the juniors who have more varied internships.

Do you think this is an appropriate breakdown of the two positions? That being said, I would greatly appreciate any advice you all have!
