Which internship would you take for summer?
say you got these options for your sophomore summer...
- Federal Bureau of Investigation
- a presidential candidate's election office on the year of presidential election
- finance internships that we see thousands of times in this website
- white house
if you were given any of these choices, which one would you choose?
Personally, I would love to intern for FBi:)
(Remember, you can't lie to Federal agents)and I chose "sophomore" summer because I think everyone should just chill during their freshmen summer... and for junior summer, well, should be focusing on your career goals...
Working for the presidential candidate would be pretty sweet. You would be around some really great thinkers. You would also be stuffing envelopes.
Monica is best.
I would probably choose the office on the presidential candidate. I think it would be fast paced and interesting intern work. It would set you apart more during interviews than the others in my opinion.
an internship at the white house is by far the best and will look the best for the rest of your life. No matter what you do, anyone who looks at your resume will ask about 1600...will open doors for you for the rest of your life...no matter what you do.
although i wonder exactly what the experience would be like, whether you would be doing anything substantive. that being said, it's probably worth doing shitty day to day stuff to get it on the resume
Agree with tlips on the whitehouse internship - you'll get nicely plugged in and get a network (even if youre dealing only with other interns) which, say 10 years down the line, will make you an asset to any bank if you wanna do banking. With a finance intenship, it's more been thre, done that like 1000s of other people, got the tshirt...

White House under a Democrat
Don't undervalue having a different CV, I got a lot of interviews I probably shouldn't have done because I used to work as a tennis coach and it really stood out and was a conversation started - so for me go with the whitehouse!
If you want to work in politics, you should be mindfull of party. If your first job is for an R, you are an R and the Ds wont touch you (and vice versa)....if you don't, no one is going to care in three years what party was in the white hous. Im trying to stay constructive so I will just say that 1600 is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you will look back on and regret if you don't take(in effort of full disclosure...I hate politics)
White House.
I've already done my share for presidential campaigns in an election year.
Besides, I know I wouldn't pass an FBI check... skeletons in the closet and all :-)
FBI
White House.
But since I live in Canada, it would be Parliament Hill.

Don't 'give' any head in the whitehouse, might screw up your career. (wink).
LOL.
