Which is less unpromising: IB Ops or Big 4 Consulting in small market?
I know that both options are not really top choice, but as a non–target with very weak background, I'm glad to even have those. So basically I've got offers from two different GS European offices and offer in business consulting at EY.
The facts I'm considering:
– From what I've already read on this forum, GS ops sounds like a terribly boring dept (is it really THAT bad?)
– EY office is in Eastern European country, so I'm not sure I'll have exposure to any big clients (is moving to other location difficult inside EY?)
– GS starting salary is twice as much as EY
– I wouldn't wish to stay in either IB ops or consulting for more than five years, so having a good transition opportunities to private sector is the key for me
Any thoughts and advice on this?
