Which of these shoes should I buy?
My favorite shoes overall are the Allen Edmonds Park Aves. However, there are no Allen Edmonds stores near me and not even my local Macy's carries them.
I am usually a size 12 but according to AE's size fit guide, I might be an 11 for their shoes. This size difference seems to be the norm for their shoes since I have seen similar comments on WSO of people advising others to buy their shoes a .5 size smaller.
Since I cannot try the shoes in person, I rather just buy other, less expensive shoes instead of the AE for fear that the fit might not be right. I will be using the shoes for a freshman IB SA position. Here are some I am eyeing. Any comments and advises are welcome. Thank you!

Any other model suggestions similar to the AE Park Aves. (black cap toe oxford) will be greatly appreciated.
I ordered my AE's online without trying them on and I thought the size #'s were accurate and did not size large/small.
Interesting… As I said before, that is based on the fit guide on their website and other posts on here.
Actually, thinking about it more, they're probably a half size too big but i'm too lazy to return them.
AE for me are .5 smaller. The J&M Melton fit normal and I think they are pretty good shoes
AE in Freeport Maine will deliver for free, at a discount, and you can return without hassle. I've used them personally for the AE Park Aves in black. trust me. you probably wear your shoes too big when casual, I wear the same size in Sperry as I do in New Balance as I do in AE as I do in Cole Haan etc etc etc. Assuming you're a D width, try on a Cole Haan shoe, get the AE in the same size.
Don't spend that kind of $ on a shoe as a Freshman. The J&M is just fine.
J&M are pretty good brah. Reward yourself with the Park Ave's later on.
As others have stated already, get the J&M for not. Leather sole and they look to be recraftable so when that leather sole gets worn out, you can just replace it. They'll probably polish up the uppers a bit more than you're able to at home. You'll have yourself a broken-in basically new pair of shoes. No reason these could not last many years for you if taken care of.
Do the J&M Meltons run true to size for everyone on here? My local Macy's does not have them in my size so I will likely order them. Also, how can I find out my appropriate shoe width? Thank you everyone!
According to the Allen Edmonds Shoe Fit Guide, my width is C. Will this width be the same for the Johnston & Murphys?
C is an odd width, I'd try on some Cole haans or Johnston Murphy's in D width, see if it works
There is this brand I have no experience with but I heard several positive reviews about. It's full-grain calfskin upper and Blake-stiched. Look up Jackerwin joe cap toe oxford black (Can't link you since I haven't accumulated enough bananas)
I would vote for the J&M. A solid shoe by all accounts and if you use shoe trees and take care of them, they will last you until you upgrade to AE, and will be good backups going forward.
I vote for Johnston & Murphy Melton The two models you gave are really similar, nut ratings say that the second one is better.
