Which offer to take up?

A friend of mine goes to a target but is merely a freshman. I figured I don't know enough so i'll post his question here...

He has the option of going to a small ib boutique to work in a three person office in new york that includes the global head of m&a of the firm.

The other option is BB pwm.

Which should he take when keeping in mind he plans to go into banking/pe/hf/vc/consulting?

Just in case, yes, he will still have time to party as the internship doesn't start for a while and ends early.

IBD all the way. If you get to do substantial work, especially in a small office, you will be much better off than wasting time doing PWM, even if it has a better name. For freshman the most important thing is experience because you are not always expected to have an amazing internship.
