Anyone following the updates for Bloom Energy’s bloom box?
I took the numbers some the Bloom Energy website and pervious Energy deals I have done and the returns are not great. The pitfalls are fuel usage (6,600 heat rate), Capex 7,000 - 8,000 k/w, and operational life (10Yrs). I also used a NCF of 90%.
I don't think there is anything revolutionary here; this can't beat a G series combine cycle, but could compliment Solar and Wind for grid efficiency.
I am sure you could structure a Bloom + Solar energy deal that could get a 12%+ (unlevered).
