Who thinks the NBA is rigged?

After watching last night Heat game, i now believe NBA is as fake as WWE.

KG gets a tech for nothing, rondo gets smacked in the face and gets nothing. wade kung fu KG's ass and gets a foul on KG.

And the team Stern just bought gets the first pick. The Cavs also got the first pick after Bron left,

if i ever see david stern on the street, i'll punch him in the face, word!

now go back to pleasing my boss. i hate this shit!!!

Not to mention CP3...

I don't think its exactly rigged, but maybe more structured. In the sense that outcomes aren't determined but certain events must happen.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Couldn't one say that rigged means the outcomes are predetermined and they just fill in the middle part. WWE isn't rigged it's scripted.

i mean the refs can't score for you, but when they make dumb calls and just send other team to free throw line, its pretty damn hard to win. But i think stern is gonna do all he can to make sure bron doesnt win a ring this year just to keep the drama.

KG shoved some dude, thats why he got the T.

after getting smacked in the face. and a lil shove while at it. No one they would give that a T even if MWP did it

i didnt get to see the game last night, but i wouldnt be surprised if garnett deserved the T. He talks more shit than any player in the NBA and they have been trying to crackdown on excessive shit like that. SOmetimes those things are easy to tell unless you are there.

I was hoping the celtics would make it to the finals tho simply to see garnett get put in his place by duncan. Duncan hating KG would make things interesting and would only help the spurs to dominate them even more.

What and LeBron and Wade staring down players after a dunk is OK? He talks shit but his whole game is based on intensity, He psychs himself up, nothing wrong with that. I dont get they're even trying to crack down on bullshit stuff. Its the playoffs, people's legacies depend on these playoffs.

If KG deserved that T, LeBron deserves a T when he stares someone down after a dunk. Same premise. Frankly, its all bullshit.

This is ridiculous. I am so tired of listening to Celtics fans whining for the last 12 hours. Yes there were a few questionable calls, just like there are in every game. Let's talk the Garnett T. Absolutely 100% deserved a tech. He elbowed Jones and then tried to play it off like it was nothing but anyone with two working eyes knows that's a technical foul. So you want to talk about a free throw disparity? The Heat are one of the most athletic teams in the league and young and athletic players don't foul a whole lot. Did Wade foul Rondo? Yes. But overall the free-throw disparity can be attributed to the fact that the Celtics are old and slow as shit and that causes fouls. Pierce is one of the slowest guys in the NBA which is why he fouled out of 2 of the last 3 games he played in. Bottom line, last night gave me no reason to think the NBA is fixed more so than I already think. Do I think they do a little bit of maneuvering to get the matchups they want? Absolutely. Which is why the refs carried Boston against Atlanta and Philly. Game 6 against the Hawks was a joke. Boston fans were so accustomed to getting every single call the last 2 series that now that the games are being called normally or perhaps they are on the other end of the fucking their fans are in uproar. It's easy to cry fix and blame the refs to distract from the fact that your team is just not as good. The Heat missed so many free throws and Rondo had the best game of his career and they still didn't win. Regardless of the officiating, the Heat were winning this series.

Shit I must have missed the elbow. He was freeing himself. And even if he did throw the elbow, it wasnt an intentional elbow to injure the player. Not T worthy at all.

The Heat are an athletic team. They get to the free throw line. No problem with that, but the point was that Miami in turn dont seem to foul. Pierce's final foul was bogus. He went straight up. One of Stiesma's fouls was the exact same thing.

You dont think Stern could have cut a deal with the new buyers guaranteeing the #1 pick if they bought the team? Something to think about.

Given the league's history that appears very sketchy and is very possible. But it's not like that was impossible (they did have the 4th-worst record, teams with lower chances have secured the top pick). But I'll be the first to tell you that Stern is a sleazebag and these things tend to happen. The Bulls getting the first pick when they had hardly any chance and got to draft the hometown kid in D-Rose. The Cavs getting Lebron (yeah they had the worst record but the team with the worst record has only gotten the top pick like 3 times in 20 years). The Cavs getting Kyrie with a 1.7% chance after Dan Gilbert's son was trotted out. What I don't understand is why we don't see the ping pong balls bouncing right in front of us like they do in powerball. That would prove it's legit and be much more exciting.

Kyrie Irving wasnt about the kid, it was about Lebron leaving. Isn't it a weird coincidence that the moment the Cavs have a bad season after Lebron leaves, the Cavs get the number 1 pick?

Now here are the past #1 picks, and there's really a story to be had here: 2008 Bulls - Derrick Rose (had a 1.7% chance of winning; hometown kid, chance to revive Bulls franchise) 2009 Clippers - Blake Griffin (had the 3rd best chance; Clippers were at the nadir of their franchise history, eventually gets handed to them Chris Paul, a trade that only happened after Stern blocked CP3 to the Lakers) 2010 Wizards - Wall (had 5th best chance; team gets Wall after being taken over by Leonsis) 2011 Cavs - Kyrie (got the #1 pick from the Clippers, which had a 2.8% chance; first year after Lebron leaves) 2012 Hornets - ? (had 4th best chance; right after team gets bought)

Apart from the Clippers in 2009, each draft pick has been incredibly fishy. I wouldn't be surprised if something actually were going on.

Or the fact that the only team who didnt tank to get the pick, got what they deserved.

Let's just be honest here: There's no way in hell the Celtics are gonna win this series. Boston fans can whine all they want, but the Heat is just a better team in every single way. Bear in mind here that I despise KG. He is a selfish whiny prick and has been his entire career. He constantly proves himself to be the biggest egomaniac in all of professional sports. The media gives Kobe and LeBron shit for their egos, but KG is on his own level. Sure, he'll do his usual chest puffing wannabe tough guy routine but in the end he has no shot of winning this series or another championship, regardless of what the refs do. I mean look at LeBron here: http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/LeBron%20KG%20laugh.jpg LeBron's face says everything you need to know about this series. That face says "You don't scare me because I'm better than you." KG is pathetic.

One thing, I'm not a Boston fan, but this whole post is so off base.

  1. KG is a great teammate. So I'm not sure where you get the whole selfish thing from.
  2. I dont see him as an egomaniac at all. If he was he would have jumped ship from Minnesota years before he did for the bigger market.
  3. Agree that KG is not the tough guy he acts to be, but thats no different from dozens of other NBA players. So harsh to single him out.
  4. Dont really see the significance of the LeBron laugh thing. Actually, if we're being so tough in games now, that should have been a double T, or at least one on LeBron for the taunt, as we dont know what Garnett is saying.

I would look up my history before coming up with this shit.

bigger egomaniac than lebron/KOBE?
Absolutely. I'm biased though because I hate Boston and all the stupid sports teams there.

not saying boston is gonna win, and agree that miami has a much better team.

but why don't the refs just let the heat do the job, instead of making it even easier? they don't need no help in beating Boston.

The NBA is bullshit. The regular season is a joke, we KNOW the refs are corrupt, and now the playoffs are a joke too.

You want to see real drama and suspense, watch the English Premier League.
