Why and how? Sophomore IB/AM Internship —> Junior MBB/B4 Internship

Hi,

I’ve seen a fair amount of students changing their paths after a sophomore summer stint in banking. Time-wise, it works because consulting recruitment occurs in the fall.

I’m just curious though on how students talk about why consulting and still break in (get past resume round & get an offer) despite most of their ECs + internships being banking-related? I can partially understand that students find that banking isn’t for them, but could there be anything else? Thanks!
