Why cant you jump from fresh college grad to upper management in 3-6months than working years and years to advance your career?

I am observing upper managers in companies doing their job and I'm thinking, "Hey, I can do that job, easy". And also, I am thinking, "I can do that job fresh out of college, easy". So my question is, why does one need 10+ years of experience to get that position when it looks easy enough to do straight out of college as a 22 year old? (Rather than doing it in your 30s)
