Will Investment Banks Laugh At Me Because Of My Age ?

I decided to get rid of my "woe is me" attitude and started grinding. I learnt that they're winners and losers in life, those who get started early on win and others lose. I purchased the Rosenbaum and financial model books off Amazon, great use of my money. I got to work and made a few pitchbooks on some companies that the BBs are currently working on. If I contact a VP or MD and send it to them with my name at the bottom, will they laugh at me or will they see I am a serious person who wants to better my life with a good job? I studied technicals like crazy and I pretty much can kill the interview. My only issue is the MD will see I'm a Freshman at CC.

See youre 3rd year assosciate. You make like 300k a year people around me make only 40k.

Manifest Destiny:
Are you able to transfer?

I will do my best to. I took my math placement and got placed into upper level maths. This is good so I can take hard classes at CC (which are easier) and hopefully my 4.0 will be competitive.

Sending a pitchbook will make them laugh at you cause it's not going to be anything as good and not anything close. You're a freshman at CC. You can still transfer.

Can I get into a good semi target? and thank you so much.

Yeah probably. Semi target or target maybe even. But I mean you're a freshman and clearly not ready for work of a banker yet. So I'd just relax. Sending a pitchbook and thinking about reaching out already is just going to result in people laughing at you.

I really admire your drive! I don't know much about your background, but I highly encourage you to apply to SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) and/or ModernGuild. These orgs have partnerships with banks and help students who come from non-target schools, but have the intellect, experience, and ability to thrive in finance. PM me if you have more questions. Best of luck!

Hey, do you mind not commenting on every single thread telling people not to help me? I took a break from WSO and picked up on technicals in my free time. I fixed my attitude like you all recommended. Please don't tell people not to help me, thanks.

This is an idiotic thing to do and a waste of time. Like, stop what you're doing. Take microecon, and focus on the task at hand - transferring. And for the love of god stop asking randos if you can get into a semi target. No one knows. We haven't read your applications, and I can only speak for myself, but I applied to college 10 years ago and have never transferred from anywhere let alone a CC. For peace of mind, why don't you take that $11k and buy yourself an hour of an admissions consultants time and talk through your situation. Or at least take it to goddamn college confidential.

little-monkey Hey I actually took your advice to heart. All my friends are at college right now and I'm here so depressed because I will live a boring life for next 2 years at CC. I was thinking though, I want to withdrawal my CC classes, work full time and actually go to a REAL 4 year. I've realized how dumb of an idea it is to go to CC, really dumb idea. I have some money saved up and I really want to go to an OOS school. It's pretty much a gap year. I've thought about joining the military as well. Thank you!
