Will it get better?

Currently a 3rd year analyst so know what IB life was like pre-COVID - while I'm in a pretty sweaty group, it was definitely a lot more manageable pre-COVID (I'm in Canada so none of the SPAC craze either). Realistically, do you think the hours / stress will go back to normal once we're back in office?

I think the threshold for most is a fairly thin line - I can rip constant midnights no problem, but it gets exponentially worse after you cross the 2am mark (I don't think I've ever logged off before midnight on M-T since WFH started).

I've been holding out as I actually enjoy the work in IB to an extent (especially at the senior level), however if life will continue to be me looking forward to sleeping as soon as possible on Friday evening and having to work all weekend, not sure if all of this is worth it in the end. Everyone is looking for some resemblance to normalcy and COVID really put a spotlight on some of the high-demanding careers.
