Will the current environment causes the IBD headcount (return offer) for APAC to be cut severally this year?

Prospect in IB - Gen
  • I'm wondering if the West's economic deterioration will benefit APAC since companies will flee to APAC for capital raising and M&A?
  • Do you think the total number of return offers will be greatly reduced this year due to the virus+oil affected economy?
  • Is IBD cyclical or anti-cyclical?

It's too early to say anything, many businesses look like they will go bankrupt or will have to sell non-core businesses, yet governments have said they would step in and provide financial support, how large will that supprt be etc make it hard to say anything yet...

What will the SA offer rates at boutique firms look like? Most of them weren't around during the last recession, and most have seen tremendous growth within the last several years. Curious if that will change or not given their fundamentally different business models.
