Withdrawing applications: will it hurt future attempts?
Hi all,
I applied to a few internships with BBs as a rising sophomore and am wondering if I withdraw them within a week of applying would it hurt my chances as a junior? I don’t think I’m qualified to handle either the interview or actual job at this point as a sophomore but really hope it wouldn’t harm me in the future.
if you are a sophomore without previous IB experience, they probably wouldn't ask you to come in for interviews anyway, they tend to focus on juniors
I mean I got hirevues... I’m kind of worried if I make a total idiot or myself in hirevues it’ll be held against me in the future lol. My stats and school pedigree are both very high and I’m just worried about messing up future chances.
Everyone gets a hirevue. They won't remember you next year. No big deal
So if I withdraw or get rejected this year when I apply next year it won’t be included with my file that I withdrew or got rejected previously?
Your file? How do you think this all works haha. No 0 effect.
Well that’s an enormous relief! So when you apply for a job unless they personally remember you they won’t know that you applied previously? Sorry I’m new to this hence why I feel unprepared lmao.
Yeah there's no permanent record or anything like that. Maybe if you renege an offer you get put on a blacklist, but for not getting past a hirevue they won't remember you. Of course, if you make it to an interview and fail in a really bad way (insult an MD or something spectacular), they'll remember you. But in literally every other case they won't remember you from sophomore to junior year.
hi, do you know that if I made an application and withdrew due to a mistake in CV and the. reapplied with another e-mail, will my name be shown two times in the system (which is not good)?
