WLB / Perks at Top GE Associate Roles?

Post banking roles at Insight, Summit, TA, etc. etc. Comp I’m aware is a slight haircut to MFPE at around ~300 all in I believe, so curious about the other things (following the perks thread a bit, want more specificity)

How much is sourcing, and what’s the internal promotion like? How competitive to get compared to typical UMM / MF recruiting?

Think it depends a lot on the firm. Although TA is traditionally a growth firm, they're starting to look more like buyout so wonder if the hours are worse

I don't work at Insight/Summit/TA but work at a growth equity arm of a megafund. I typically work 55-60 hours per week, getting to 80+ when we are pushing forward on a live deal (probably 25% of weeks).

Split between sourcing & execution is roughly 50/50 but this is firm-dependent, I know Summit for example is going to lean more heavily towards sourcing as a post-banking associate.

Internal promotion also varies fund to fund. Summit/TA seem to push b-school pretty hard but place really well into HBS/GSB. Insight seems to do more direct promotions from what I can tell on LinkedIn.

As for perks, I can't think of anything that stands out vs. other PE firms. Standard stuff like annual offsites in a cool location, paid lunch/dinner, business class flights (not really a perk considering work travel sucks), vendor / law firm events and access to their suite, etc.
