Work experience- how long should it stay on a resume?

hey guys,

how current should my resume be? should I keep a finance internship I had and elaborate on it? or instead should I focuses on a club im currently in?

thx

I think it should depend on the club you are in and what exactly you are doing and how it relates to whatever you are applying to. Pick whichever is more relevant to the position you would like to apply for. I don't think you have to worry about inconsistencies in your time frame (since it sounds like you're in school and the date will reflect that), so there is no worry if the internship was before the club. If they are equal in relevance, or even remotely close to equal, I would suggest you keep the internship over the club. When I am looking at candidate resumes to weed out the people I think merit an interview, I will put a lot more weight in an internship than a club.

That brings up another question. At what point can your resume be 2 pages? After 3-4 internships, it comes to the point where it's either taking the oldest away or expanding to 2 pages. Just interested to hear your thoughts on this (recruiters tend to always appreciate the one-pager).

I don't thin it's okay to go to two pages until you're way further in your career, like exec level.
