Work experience vs undergrad schooling
I'm new to the forum but there seems to be a lot of good information here. My question is how much does work experience make up for your undergraduate stats? I went to Georgia Tech and got my BS in Mechanical Engineering, however I was focused more on extra-curricular activities like the student investment group and ROTC so I ended up with a 3.03 GPA. Haven't taken the GMAT since I'm a ways from applying for schools still so I can't list a score there. However by the time I apply for an MBA program I'll have 7-8 years of active duty military experience in program management. So with a strong GMAT and good work experience will that make up for having a ~3.0 GPA and a non-traditional undergraduate major for getting into a top tier school?
brother I remember you...use a different username please
Sorry but I think you have me confused with somebody else. I joined the forum about 10 minutes before posting that. My username is based from my name so I'm not sure why I should use something different.
haha bro I went to GT too, that's what I was referring to. One of the great things about this forum is anonymity. Wall street is very small, that's the first thing you need to know by heart.
Anyways, to answer your question, it is possible. B-school adcomms love kids from military. I can't say too much because that's really I know. We both know GT is a tough school, but 3.03 is a bit low...sucks that outsiders don't know this.
I still remember when you were in GT...remember V-kat? lol
